Travelling with Other Airlines on your Gulf Air Ticket
Different baggage rules may apply if your Gulf Air itinerary includes flights operated by other airlines. Please check your ticket for details of your baggage allowance for each flight in your itinerary.

Gulf Air codeshare flights operated by American Airlines to and from the USA or Canada
If you purchase a Gulf Air ticket to/from the USA or Canada that involves a connection with a flight operated by another airline (for American Airlines, see policy above), your free baggage allowance is based on a combination of how many piece(s) you can carry and a maximum weight per individual piece. Individual airlines have varying policies on this. Please refer to their website to ensure you have the most up-to-date information about your baggage allowance and any potential charges before starting your journey. IATA rates apply for any piece over the free baggage allowance.
Two checked pieces, provided that the total linear dimensions (height + width + depth) for each bag does not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) and the weight of each bag does not exceed 32 kg (70 lbs).
Two checked pieces, provided the total linear dimensions (height + width + depth) for both bags added together does not exceed 273 cm (107 inches), and the weight of each bag does not exceed 23 kg (50 lbs).
Bags that weigh more than 23 kg (50 lbs) but below 32 kg (70 lbs) will incur a fixed overweight charge of USD50.00 for economy passengers. Any passengers wishing to carry an additional piece(s) over and above their free allowance will be charged as per American Airlines policy which is available on their website.
Regardless of class, infants will be allowed one checked piece, provided that the total linear dimensions (height + width + depth) does not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) and the weight of the bag does not exceed 23 kg (50 lbs).

If you purchase a Gulf Air ticket that involves a connection with a flight operated by an airline that is not a Gulf Air codeshare partner, the baggage allowance of that operating airline applies to their flight irrespective of where you have commenced your journey. Please see the baggage allowance on the website of the airline you will be travelling on and plan accordingly.
Separate tickets or not through check-in facility to an onward destination
Please note that if you hold separate tickets for your journey or your baggage cannot be checked through to your final destination, you will be subject to the applicable baggage allowance of the airline operating each flight.
